🔬 Science Explorer – Interactive Educational Simulation

Science Explorer is a Unity-based 3D science simulation designed to bring middle school science education to life. Developed as a graduation project by Software Engineering students at Near East University, this browser-compatible simulation blends visual learning and hands-on experimentation to transform how students engage with science.

🌟 Key Features

  • 16+ Interactive Experiments
Covering topics like force & motion, molecular behavior, plant & animal cells, electricity, solar system, and more.
  • Real-Time Feedback & Gamified Interactions
Students can manipulate variables (like force, mass, pressure, etc.) and instantly see the results—encouraging exploration and curiosity.
  • Curriculum-Aligned Content
Designed to support grades 6–8 science curricula with experiments tailored to core concepts.
  • Multi-language Support
Available in both Turkish and English to make science accessible to a wider audience.
  • Browser-Based Access (WebGL)
No installation required—just open and explore!

🧪 Learn by Seeing and Doing

Whether you're zooming into a cell’s nucleus, adjusting sliders in a pressure experiment, or simulating an earthquake, Science Explorer emphasizes learning by observing and experimenting. The simulation includes realistic models, educational feedback, and dynamic visuals to help students truly understand abstract concepts.

💡 Who is this for?

  • Students looking for an engaging way to reinforce classroom knowledge
  • Educators seeking supplemental teaching tools
  • Parents who want to support their children's science learning at home
  • Anyone curious about science concepts in an interactive format

🛠️ Technologies Used

  • Engine: Unity 3D + WebGL
  • Programming: C#
  • 3D Modeling: Blender
  • UI/UX: Photoshop + Custom scripts
  • Scientific Accuracy: Validated by educators; solar system data sourced from NASA

This project was developed by Can Balkaç and Mert Balkaç as part of their undergraduate thesis under the supervision of Uzm. Zöhre Serttaş.
